Mpox
• Mga bata, lalo na under 8 years old
• Mga buntis
⸻
⚠️ Mga Dahilan Kung Bakit Maaaring Ikamatay ang Mpox:
⸻
📊 Gaano Kadalas ang Namamatay?
• Clade I (Central Africa strain) – hanggang 10% fatality rate
• Clade II (West Africa strain) – mas mild, less than 1% fatality

Think to save.
Many people earn P50k and stay broke.
Others earn P15k and build peace.
It’s not just what you earn.
It’s what you do with it.
It’s not always about earning more.
Sometimes, it’s about being wiser—with what you already have.
Because let’s be honest—
Many couples earn a lot and still stay broke.
While others earn just enough,
but somehow build peace, plans, and progress.
It’s not the amount.
It’s the alignment.
Two people, working together,
not just to make money—but to make it mean something.
Some relationships chase income.
But the stronger ones chase discipline.
They talk before they swipe.
They plan before they splurge.
They say no to some wants,
so they can say yes to bigger goals.
Because real love isn’t just about sharing moments—
it’s about sharing mindsets.
And you’ll see it in the small things:
packed lunches,
budget nights,
cancelled add to carts,
and long conversations that begin with,
“Where do we want to be five years from now?”
It’s not about who earns more.
It’s about how you honor the income you both have.
You don’t have to be rich to build something strong.
You just need to be united—
in values, vision, and discipline.
Because when you both treat every peso with purpose,
even a little can go a long way.
And when you’re wise with the small,
you’ll be ready for the big.

Financial tips.
2023 FINANCIAL TIPS from Chinkee Tan
1. Huwag kang bumili nang mamahaling cellphone. Dahil laging may bagong lalabas na new model na mas higit pa sa nabili mo. 📱
Kaya laging unahin ang needs over wants.

pH overview
pH OVERVIEW.
pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a substance, typically water, and is represented on a scale from 0 to 14.
A pH of 7 is neutral, while values less than 7 indicate acidity and values greater than 7 indicate alkalinity (also known as basicity).
pH is a logarithmic scale, meaning each whole number change represents a tenfold change in acidity or alkalinity.
A. Key Points:
1. Definition:
pH is the negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration, essentially measuring the concentration of H+ ions in a solution.
2. Scale:
The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral, values below 7 indicating acidity, and values above 7 indicating alkalinity.
3. Logarithmic:
Each unit on the pH scale represents a tenfold change in acidity or alkalinity. For example, a solution with a pH of 4 is ten times more acidic than a solution with a pH of 5.
4.bImportance:
pH is crucial in many scientific disciplines, including chemistry, biology, and medicine, as it influences chemical reactions, enzyme activity, and various biological processes.
5. Measurement:
pH can be measured using various methods, including colorimetric indicators, pH meters, and glass electrodes.
6. Examples:
Pure water is considered neutral with a pH of 7. Acid rain, due to the presence of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, typically has a pH between 4.0 and 5.0, making it acidic.
7. Real-world applications:
pH is important in various industries, including food production, environmental protection, and chemical manufacturing.

Make the most of it.
Life is fleeting, so let's make the most of it...
The day starts, and before we know it, it's already evening. Monday rolls around, and suddenly it's Friday. The month slips by, and before we realize it, the year is almost gone. We look back and see that decades have passed—40, 50, 60, even 70 or 80 years—and we realize we've lost loved ones along the way. Time has flown by, and we can't go back.
So, despite everything, let's try to embrace the time we have left. Let's seek out activities that bring us joy and add some color to our sometimes dull routines. Let's take a moment to appreciate the little things that make our hearts feel fuller.
We must continue to find peace in this time we have. Let’s stop putting things off—no more "I'll do it later," "I'll say it later," or "I'll think about it later." We often treat 'later' like it's guaranteed, but the truth is: the coffee gets cold, priorities shift, the magic fades, our health declines, children grow up, parents age, promises are forgotten, days turn into nights... and before we know it, life has passed.
So let’s not wait for 'later.' By putting things off, we risk missing the best moments, the best experiences, and the chance to truly connect with friends and family.
Today is the day. Now is the moment. We no longer have the luxury of time to delay what matters most.
Life may seem like it stretches on forever, but it’s a very short journey. Let’s cherish every bit of it, because time can never be brought back..
Earn with character.
I don’t know why, here in the Philippines, SOME people make such a big deal out of not being called by their title. Yes, we get it—you worked hard for it. Alam namin yan! But let’s be real: not everyone knows who you are, eh di ka nga kilala! Ano magagawa! and the world doesn’t revolve around your credentials.
In my line of work, I talk to professionals from different countries—doctors, lawyers, engineers—you name it. And guess what? I just call them John, Amy, Richard. Why? Because they’re secure enough to know their value isn’t tied to a title. They’ve told us themselves—real respect isn’t about demanding to be called “Attorney” or “Doctor.” It’s about how you treat people, whether they’re above or below you.
You want respect? Earn it with character, not with a name tag. A simple “sir” or “ma’am” is more than enough. Don’t act like the title makes you untouchable. It doesn’t.

Boat is sinking.
A powerful reminder for anyone in leadership or management!
This cartoon perfectly illustrates a common failure in many organizations: ignoring warning signs and normalizing dysfunction - all while expecting teams to keep performing at their peak.
Instead of listening to those raising the alarm, we:
Minimize critical issues like market changes, burnout, or talent gaps
Push teams to "do more with less" as cracks widen
Say, "It's always been this way," or "Others have it worse," instead of fixing the root problems
Leadership is not about pretending everything is fine.
It's about listening, adapting, and having the courage to fix the hole before the boat sinks.
Let's focus on building resilient teams and sustainable systems - not just surviving, but thriving.
Food for thought for every decision-maker in today's rapidly changing world.

Deck Department:
• Master (Captain): ₱580,000+
• Chief Mate: ₱420,000+
• Second Mate: ₱280,000+
• Third Mate: ₱210,000+
• Bosun : ₱110,000+
• Able Seaman (AB): ₱80,000+
• Ordinary Seaman (OS): ₱50,000+
• Deck Cadet: ₱25,000+
Engine Department:
• Chief Engineer: ₱560,000+
• Second Engineer: ₱400,000+
• Third Engineer: ₱250,000+
• Fourth Engineer: ₱180,000+
• Electrician: ₱250,000+
• Fitter / Motorman:₱110,000+
• Oiler:₱80,000+
• Wiper:₱50,000+
• Engine Cadet:₱25,000+
Catering Department:
• Chief Cook:₱90,000+
• Messman / Steward: ₱50,000+
Tandaan:
1. The courts are different
A. Hard Court
B. Clay Court(may blue clay, red clay pa)
C. Grass Court
Even the #1 Aryna Sabalenka in women's and # Jannik Sinner haven't won a slam in clay and grass but maybe this year d natin alam. Alex is good in hard court pero nagsstruggle cia sa Clay kasi d cia need pa nia maimprove serve nia. Bihira lang talaga ung mamaw ng athletes na are really great in all surfaces like Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, Serena Williams atbp.
2. Close and Open Roof and time of match
- malaking factor din to kasi may mga player na di sanay na matagal sa init, and may mga iba naman di sanay sa gabi ang game, the wind is also a big factor.
At the end of the day talo man si Alex may uwi pa din cia 4.91M eh ung mga bashers puro kuda lang try nio minsan mata gamitin sa panonood at di bunganga 🤣😂

When a Father Walks Away—Everyone Pays the Price
Let’s say it loud:
The greatest crisis a child can face isn’t poverty.
It’s not bullying.
It’s not the cost of college.
It’s a father who left.
Whether he left through cheating, cowardice, or being pushed out—
the result is the same:
A child with no compass.
A future with no blueprint.
A legacy with no foundation.
Let’s talk about it.
—
1. Fathers Who Cheat Don’t Just Betray Their Wives—They Break Their Children
That affair you had?
It didn’t just destroy trust.
It disrupted an entire bloodline.
Because the day you became a father, you weren’t just a lover.
You became a leader.
And when the leader abandons the structure?
The whole kingdom collapses.
—
2. Women Who Weaponize the Law Are No Better
Let’s not pretend:
The law is on your side.
The courts favor you.
The world will call you brave—even if you’re petty.
But just because you can destroy a man legally doesn’t mean you should.
Pushing a father out because your emotions changed isn’t power.
It’s generational sabotage.
Children don’t care about your ego.
They care about consistency.
—
3. Science Confirms It—Kids Do Better With Fathers Present
You can’t rewrite this.
Studies show: – Boys raised without fathers are more likely to be violent.
– Girls raised without fathers are more likely to be exploited.
– And all children suffer emotionally when dad becomes a ghost.
Single motherhood may be normalized.
But it’s not ideal.
And if you’re offended?
Check the prison stats.
Check the dropout stats.
Check the depression stats.
Father absence is not just a wound.
It’s a curse.
—
4. Men: Stop Starting Families You’re Not Ready to Lead
You want to be a father?
Then stop acting like a frat boy with responsibilities.
– You don’t get to cheat because “she let herself go.”
– You don’t get to start over and pretend your first family doesn’t exist.
– You don’t get to “heal” by disappearing from your children’s lives.
Leadership isn’t convenience.
It’s covenant.
And a man who can’t keep his vows shouldn’t expect loyalty from his children later in life.
—
5. Women: Stop Removing the Father Just Because the Marriage Died
You fell out of love?
Cool.
But that doesn’t cancel his role.
You moved on?
Great.
But that doesn’t mean he disappears.
When you turn your child against their father, you’re not protecting them.
You’re punishing them.
And they’ll resent you for it when they grow up.
—
6. Children Aren’t Resilient—They’re Just Quiet
Don’t be fooled.
That smile is covering confusion.
That silence is hiding trauma.
That “I’m fine” is rehearsed.
They notice: – When your new partner gets more attention.
– When they stop being invited to things.
– When love starts feeling like a competition.
They’re not “adapting.”
They’re breaking quietly.
—
7. Masculinity Must Be Modeled—Not Just Taught
Boys don’t become men through lectures.
They become men by watching one.
And if you’re not around?
They’ll find masculinity in the streets, the screen, or the chaos.
And none of those places build men you’d be proud of.
—
Final Word: You Don’t Stop Being a Father Because You Failed as a Husband
Men:
You may have lost the marriage.
But don’t lose your mission.
Women:
You may be hurt.
But don’t hijack your child’s future to soothe your ego.
Because when a father walks away—
Or is pushed out—
Everyone pays.
The kids.
The legacy.
The soul of the next generation.
So whether you're the man who strayed,
Or the woman who shut the door…
Fix it.
Because children don’t care who was right.
They just want both parents to stay in the fight.

Minimalism = balance.
Bago mag over take.
BEFORE YOU OVERTAKE A VEHICLE AHEAD OF YOU❗
The moment you leave your lane to overtake, your judgment must be accurate. Improper overtaking has caused a lot of fatalities on the road.
It is therefore important that we keep reminding each other how to safely overtake.
Below are a few things you should always keep in mind before and during overtakes:
1. Be mindful of road markings and signs. Let's keep this short: Double solid lines, double solid yellow lines, and solid yellow lines mean overtaking the car ahead is out of the question.
Solid white lines discourage you from overtaking, while broken white lines mean it's safe.
2. Ensure there's enough distance and space.
This can be tricky for beginner drivers. Ensure that there's enough distance between you and the next oncoming vehicle before attempting an overtake. Also, be sure that there's enough space to safely merge back into your lane once you get ahead.
3. Check your rearview before overtaking.
You don't want to crash into the side of a car attempting an overtake. Check your rearview and sideview mirrors. It's also common practice to check over your shoulder before attempting to get ahead.
4. Make sure you can see the road ahead.
The golden rule of overtaking: Do not attempt to do so if you can't see ahead. This means you shouldn't be heading towards curves, corners, or sudden changes in elevation. Signs or road markings will usually indicate that you're in an unsafe location to attempt an overtaking maneuver.
5. Be aware of the other vehicle's blind spots.
Be careful around larger and taller vehicles, such as trucks or oversized pickups. Exercise extra caution when trying to get ahead of them, as their blind spots will be significantly larger than those of an average car.
6. Mind your surroundings.
Do not perform overtakes around construction sites or tight streets with poor roadside visibility. Places like parking garages are an obvious no-go as well. Basically, if you're driving somewhere where something – be it a pedestrian or fellow motorist – can suddenly pop out from your sides in an attempt to cross, don't do it.
7. Never overtake from the left. Overtake only on the right (for countries that keep left), except when the driver in front has signaled that they intend to turn right and you can overtake them safely on the left lane without getting in the way of others.
8. Ask yourself if it's really necessary.
Is an overtaking maneuver really in order, or are you just being impatient? Keep local speed limits in mind when you're considering trying to get ahead or catching up with the car in front of you.
9. Choose the proper gear. You may want to shift down a gear or two for some extra power when you try to get ahead. Just hope the car you're trying to overtake isn't bothered by it.
10. Don't race while being overtaken. If you see that the car behind you is trying to get ahead, put aside your ego and give them space to merge back into your lane. Trying to get into a confrontation may end up with one of you (or both) in the hospital.

Paano?

THE COCKROACH's CHOICE
Three hungry cockroaches came to a farmer and asked him for food. He willingly offered them some bread and some cheese. They ate to satisfaction and saved food to take home to their families.
Upon leaving, the farmer told them,
"Listen roaches, instead of begging for food as you always do, why don't I offer you a job in my farm? We offer good pay, food, and protection for your families."
The cockroaches asked,
"What work do we have to do, and how much salary do we get?"
The farmer answered,
"There are four positions available in my farm, with each having a different pay. It's up to you to choose which of them you prefer! The worker whose job is to inform my chickens that food is ready gets paid $3,000 every month. The worker whose job is to peel and slice my garlic gets $5,000 monthly. The worker whose job is to chase pesky lizards out of the farm gets $4,000 every month. And lastly, the worker whose job is to sing and dance for my goats gets only $250 monthly. You can make your choice now!"
The first cockroach exclaimed,
"I choose the $5,000 job! I want to peel and slice your garlic!"
The second cockroach chorused,
"I want the $4,000 job! Let me chase the pesky lizards out of the farm!
The third cockroach thought for a long moment, then said surprisingly,
"I would prefer the $250 job! I want to sing and dance for your goats!"
For a moment, the two other cockroaches glared at her and thought she was very dumb.
"How could she have chosen the lowest paying job in the farm? Is she that silly and unreasonable?" they thought within themselves.
The following morning, the three cockroaches arrived for their first day of work. However, as they began their duties, the first and the second cockroaches died all of a sudden.
The curious farmer then called the third cockroach and asked,
"Tell me, why did you choose the lowest paying job?"
She took a deep breath and answered,
"Firstly, chickens favourite food is cockroaches- why would I choose a job where I have to go close to chickens? Secondly, the pungent smell of garlic can quickly kill a cockroach- why would I choose a job where I have to peel and slice garlic? Thirdly, lizards love to snack and prey on cockroaches- why would I choose a job where I have to chase lizards out of the farm? It's not about the money at all, it's about putting my life into consideration."
LESSON TO LEARN:
Be careful of the deals you accept from people. Don't jump into every offer made to you. Don't be so blinded by money and material things that you refuse to pause and carefully consider the ramifications before taking a decision. Be wise!
Push na yan.
𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗶𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗕𝗕𝗠'𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
As a public servant and advocate for good governance, I welcome President Bongbong Marcos' call for courtesy resignations of cabinet secretaries, viewing it as a demonstration of his commitment to reform. When we met in 2018, prior to the filing of his candidacy for the presidency, he expressed his desire to redeem his father's name, and his most recent initiative is a step in that direction.
To build on this momentum and restore trust and integrity in government, I propose the following measures to strengthen the fight against corruption:
1. Abolish congressional pork barrel allocations in executive departments like DPWH, DSWD, DOLE, DOH, etc., ensuring transparency and accountability in resource allocation.
2. Shield departmental appointments, particularly in frontline departments like DPWH, from congressional interference to ensure merit-based selections.
3. Eliminate the practice of "percentages" of corrupt politicians in public projects and other forms of corruption that undermine public trust.
4. ALL TRANSPARENCY IN THE BIDDING PROCESS TO PREEMPT RIGGED BIDDINGS THAT ONLY BENEFIT CORRUPT POLITICIANS (AND THEIR RELATIVES) WHO ARE CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS.
5. Hold corrupt politicians accountable through swift and impartial prosecution.
6. Remove congressional control over programs like AKAP, AICS, MAIP, TUPAD, CHED, and TESDA scholarships, ensuring these resources directly benefit the people WITH FULL TRANSPARENCY and without partisan influence.
While call for courtesy resignations is a welcome start, it is crucial that we continue to push for meaningful and GENUINE reforms. By working together, we can make Good Governance the standard in public service, prioritizing the welfare of the Filipino people above all else.

Dapat dumaan sa hirap.
BAKIT OKAY NA DUMAAN SA HIRAP?
My daughter is living a life I never had growing up.
Kahit pangatlong init pa yan basta kailangan maubos.
We need to experience hardship so we appreciate more the value of success especially if its hard-earned success.
at the same time i make her experience the life i work so hard for her kaya madalas nag trravel kami together, kumakain sa labas from time to time. something na i wish nagawa ko rin kasama yung mama ko pero hindi nya na nahintay na makaluwag-luwag ako.
🏠5. Unang Impresyon at Bisita:

From borrower to creditor
Do you remember the first time in history the Philippines transformed from a borrower to a creditor and pledged $1 billion to the International Monetary Fund to help Europe during its sovereign debt crisis?
Maybe not. Because you were all hating on President Noynoy. But yes, in 2012 during President Noynoy’s time, we not only paid up our debt with the IMF, we pledged $1 billion to the IMF in its efforts to help Europe overcome its debt crisis. We had more than enough money to lend as we had $77 billion in dollar reserves back then.
It wasn’t only an investment meant to to earn interest, it was to prevent the financial collapse of Europe where hundreds of thousands of Filipinos were in danger of losing their jobs which would have meant thousands of Pinoys flying back home to the Philippines, hundreds of millions of dollars worth of remittance drying up, and thousands of OFW families going hungry.
So it is ironic that a large number of OFWs decided to then hate on President Noynoy, elect Europe-hating Duterte, and now we find ourselves in a 17 trillion-peso debt hole that was only five trillion pesos when President Noynoy left office.
We went from borrower to creditor to deep in debt in less than a decade because we wanted “change”. We got the “change” we deserved, all right.
- Dr. Elvira Barcelo
“Work is work. If it’s honest, there’s dignity in it.”
🔸 “Life doesn’t always follow the script we write.”
🔸 “Learning never ends.”
🔸 “Service can take many forms.”

Stop damaging sierra madre.
Diocese of Imus Ministry on Ecology
Ministri Sa Kalikasan
This greedy destruction of nature, although legal, as it is backed up by legal documents, does not mean it is moral and humane.
Mining in the Sierra Madre region of Isabela, Philippines, is considered immoral due to several serious ethical and environmental concerns. Here are the primary reasons:
1. Environmental Destruction
Deforestation: Sierra Madre is one of the last remaining large forest corridors in the Philippines. Mining operations often involve clearing forests, which destroys critical habitats for wildlife, including endangered species.
Watershed Damage: The range plays a vital role in water supply and flood control. Mining can pollute or deplete vital water sources, affecting both ecosystems and communities.
Erosion and Landslides: Open-pit or irresponsible mining in mountainous areas can lead to soil erosion, landslides, and increased vulnerability to natural disasters.
2. Impact on Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities
Ancestral Lands: Many mining areas overlap with indigenous ancestral domains. Operations without proper consent violate their rights and cultural heritage.
Displacement and Conflict: Mining often leads to the displacement of communities or causes internal conflicts due to unequal sharing of benefits or external interests.
3. Violation of Conservation Laws
The Sierra Madre is a protected area under Philippine environmental laws. Engaging in mining there may contravene these laws, especially if done without proper permits or if it encroaches into protected zones.
4. Moral Responsibility
Stewardship Ethics: From a moral standpoint, humans have a duty to care for the environment. Prioritizing profit over long-term ecological and social health is widely viewed as unethical.
Intergenerational Justice: Damaging Sierra Madre today risks depriving future generations of its benefits—clean air, water, biodiversity, and climate regulation.

Our responsibility to protect nature.
Legendary Italian diver Enzo Mallorca was practicing diving off the coast near Syracuse, accompanied by his daughter Rossana, who had stayed on the boat. Suddenly, he felt something gently touch his back under the water. When he turned around, he saw a dolphin, but it clearly wasn't there to play. Was trying to communicate something.
The dolphin plunged into the depths, and Enzo followed. About 15 meters deep, he discovered another dolphin that had gotten trapped in an abandoned fishing net and was fighting for its life. Enzo called his daughter to pass him a diving knife and quickly managed to free the animal. The dolphin, exhausted and close to drowning, emitted a scream, something Enzo would later describe as almost human.
A dolphin can only hold its breath for about ten minutes, and this one was close to his limit. They helped him to surface, where it was unexpectedly revealed that she was a pregnant. Shortly after, she gave birth to her calf, while the other dolphin, the father, swam around in the water.
Then, he swam to Enzo, touched his cheek in a gesture that resembled a grateful kiss, and disappeared with his little family into the sea.
After the experience, Enzo reflected with the following words:
Until man learns to respect nature and understand the language of animals, he will never realize his rightful place on Earth.
The incident is a reminder of nature's intelligence and our responsibility to protect it.

Help if you have extra. Di na babalik yan.
No matter how emotional their story is don’t touch your savings.
That money represents your discipline, your late nights, your skipped pleasures, your silent sacrifices. It’s your backup plan when life hits unexpectedly. It’s the bridge between where you are and where you want to go.
If you keep dipping into it for every guilt trip, every emergency that isn’t yours, or every person who mismanaged their life, you’ll have nothing left when you need it most
Help if you can but only from your surplus, never your core.
Being kind doesn’t mean being foolish.
Being generous doesn’t mean being reckless.
Being a man doesn’t mean bleeding yourself dry.
Real men build stability. And savings are sacred. Protect them.
Sure! Here’s a simplified version with clear examples:
P.S.
This advice is for when people ask for help with things they should handle themselves.
For example:
– A friend wants money because they overspent on shopping.
– A relative needs “urgent” help for the third time this month but just bought a new phone.
– Someone pressures you with guilt for not helping, even though it’s not your responsibility.
This advice is NOT for real emergencies.
For example:
– Your parents need money for urgent medical treatment.
– Your child needs support for school or health.
– A true friend is in trouble for the first time and has no one else to turn to.
In short:
Help from your extra, not from your essentials.
Barangay chairman should know how to.
READ: Before running for Barangay position [Punong Barangay and Barangay Kagawad at SK Chairmen, be sure that you know how to:
1. Write a formal letter
2. Draft a Barangay Resolution
3. Prepare Budgetary Plans and Reports
4. Communicate (both written and oral)
5. Organize, implement, manage and evaluate events
6. Make project or program proposals
7. Be a leader who functions for the greater good
8. Greater ideas for the betterment of the community
9. Handle stress and pressure
10. Exceptional knowledge and understanding of Section 17 of RA 7160 and other laws applicable in barangay
11. Knowledgeable in handling committee meeting and parliamentary proceedings
12. With technical understanding in preparing committee reports and barangay ordinances.
If you think you have the 12 minimum technical requirements for being an effective and efficient leaders, then you'll the next Barangay Officials for a greater cause.

Mula kalsada patungo sa Bangko
"Mula Kalsada Hanggang Bangko"
Petsa: Mayo 11, 2025
Dear Kuya Nel,

If only
"If only he had another chance... Maybe Ricky wouldn't have left me so soon."
After more than a decade together, it seemed like we had overcome all challenges. Ricky Davao - the strong man on screen, the hero in the hearts of the audience - was so weak in my arms in his final days. He passed away from a brain aneurysm, when the first rays of sunlight touched the photo of the two of us taken in Boracay.
He was still laughing and joking with me the night before, talking about the new film project, about the trip to Japan that he promised to take me when the pandemic was over. But a severe headache came at midnight, like a knife tearing apart our future. I screamed, holding him and running to all the hospitals from Makati to St. Luke's. The doctors shook their heads: "The blood vessels have burst, the brain damage cannot be restored."
I accompanied him to the US for treatment. We met with a top neurologist at the Mayo Clinic, tried expensive stem cell therapy in Switzerland. But Ricky's body - once strong in action scenes - was now a dry leaf in the middle of a storm. He couldn't speak, didn't recognize me, only tears rolled down his pale cheeks every time I sang "Winter Lover" - the song he used to hum while bathing in the rain.
What hurt me the most was not losing him, but the late regret.
Two months ago, I happened to watch an interview with Dr. Eric Tayag on TV. He explained about brain aneurysms - a silent killer that can be prevented early with a special milk that strengthens blood vessel collagen. I looked back at my messages and saw that Ricky had texted me 6 months ago: "Honey, I often have headaches, as if someone is squeezing my heart...". If only I had let him try this method then, things might have been different. After his funeral, many people told me about the effectiveness of this method. Many people asked why I didn't let him try it. I could only silently cry...
I banged my head against the wall, tears flowing onto the T-shirt he left behind - still smelling of Davidoff Cool Water. In my mind, there were only two words "if only".
Now, after calming down, I silently thanked him.
He taught me the final lesson: love must go hand in hand with action. I know I have to be strong and act. I will share this method with everyone so that no one will have to suffer anymore.
Ricky, I can't save you, but I will use this pain to awaken millions of people. I write these lines in a room filled with stage lights - where you once shone. His Filmfare Award trophy is now a reminder: life is more fragile than even the most tragic roles.
If you are reading this, please click the link below, not for me, but for you and your loved one who is waiting for a hug in the next room. Don't let them become "the second Ricky" in someone else's story. Here is the method from Dr Eric Tayag: https://www.doh-gov.ph/erictayag
"Honey, I will live strong - like the way you held my hand through the protesting audience that day. See you in another world..."
