Never compete

'NEVER COMPETE WITH YOUR FRIENDS' 🫶

"During our elementary years, we are that duo na talaga wherein sya yung Best in Science tsaka ako 'yung Best in Math. We attended contests together as a duo or individually but in our respective fields. We also went to the same high school, sa Pisay CMC na campus. Again, both of us graduated With High Honors tsaka magkasunod din yung ranking namin. During the admission rin sa MSU [yung university namin], magkasunod din kami. Tapos ngayon, both of us graduated last July 18, 2023, tsaka both of us graduated Summa Cum Laude, tsaka magkasunod na naman. Hahahaha," kuwento ni Francis sa PSND.

Ayon pa sa kanya, nakakagaan sa pakiramdam na wala silang malaking pinag-awayan ng kaibigan.

"I really find it relieving na wala talaga kaming major fights all throughout those years na magkasama kami. Tsaka 'yung friendship namin grew over the years despite enrolling to different fields. Siguro due to the fact na magkakasama lang kami ng boarding house kaya every time we had the chance to talk about things, we do. Tapos 'yung consistency, it was actually shocking how consistent yung performance namin at saka yung ranking. Magkakasunod talaga. And I think it's very rare. It's really a remarkable feat for the both us," saad pa ni Francis.

Kasunod nito, nagbigay naman ng payo si Francis para sa pag-abot ng pangarap kasama ang mga kaibigan.

"Never compete with your friends, or treat them as your competitor. Hindi lahat ng bagay dapat may competition. Actually, I think the pressure is on me kasi ako yung 2nd sa aming dalawa, pero I never had that ill feeling or hatred towards him. We excel in different fields naman kasi, ako sa Math tsaka siya sa Science, so why compare? [...] We must remember that each of one us should define success by ourselves and it is not necessary to be relative to others. Hence, stop being so competitive and start setting the standards yourself," wika niya.
