Ganyan ang pakiramdam ng maraming Pilipino ngayon.
Inflation is at 7.2%, far above the BSP target. Sa simpleng salita, yung dating kasya na budget, kulang na ngayon kahit pareho lang ang binibili. Bigas, pamasahe, kuryente, ulam, lahat may dagdag.
Kaya tinaasan ang interest rate para pabagalin ang inflation. Parang preno sa ekonomiya. But when the brakes are too hard, businesses also slow down. Loans become more expensive. Expansion is delayed. Hiring becomes more cautious.
Dito nagiging masalimuot.
Workers need higher wages because inflation is eating their income. Pero kapag tumaas ang sahod, tataas din ang gastos ng negosyo. And when business costs go up, prices usually follow.
This is where workers and business owners must find ways to survive together. Hindi puwedeng kanya-kanya. Workers need relief, but businesses also need room to breathe.
Companies that built trust with their people when times were good have a better chance of getting through a long crisis. Goodwill is not only human. It is also good business.
Dagdag pa ang gulo sa Middle East. If it gets worse, oil prices may rise. Kapag tumaas ang langis, susunod ang pamasahe, delivery cost, pagkain, at halos lahat ng bilihin.
Walang madaling sagot dito.
Inflation must be controlled, but not in a way that kills jobs. Workers need relief, but businesses also need to stay alive. Families need to save, but they cannot stop eating.
In a crisis like this, survival is shared. Hindi puwedeng manggagawa lang ang magtiis. Hindi rin puwedeng negosyo lang ang uminda.
The only way through is discipline, fairness, and malasakit, because when the load gets heavier, we survive better when we carry it together.
