🚨 7.2% INFLATION FOR SEPTEMBER 2026
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) just released the numbers, and the squeeze on every Juan’s pockets is real. From 6.1% in August, headline inflation has shot up to 7.2%, pushing the year-to-date average to 5.4%.
Hindi pa tapos ang taon pero mas mababa na ito sa YTD inflation rate last year na nasa 1.7% lang. hindi ito biro, halos 3x na!
Ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin nito sa atin, sa bawat Pilipino?
📉 Food inflation jumped to 6.8% (vegetables and crops are up by 10.7%!).
📉 Transport costs also spiked by 14.6% due to soaring fuel prices.
📉 Electricity, housing, and water costs climbed to 8.4%.
How are we supposed to keep up when the cost of living outpaces our hard-earned wages?
Hindi ito problema ng employers, kung mahirap din sila magpatupad ng pagtaas ng sahod, o mahirap makabenta ng new projects, humanap ng investors, o new prospects. At hindi bad performance ang dahilan para sa ordinaryong manggagawa kung bakit mahirap mag-cope up, o marahil, mukhang may problema sa pag-manage ng budget.
Hindi.
Kung dati, sapat ang 20K/mo na sahod, ngayon kukulangin ka ng 1.4K kada buwan.
Kahit pa 100K/mo na sahod, 7K na ang maaaring bumawas dahil sa inflation bagamat parehas ang lifestyle mo.
Kung may business ka at may sampung katao, at nakakaraos sa araw-araw, ngayon ay hindi na. Either, nanganganib ang isang empleyado na matanggal or you’ll compromise the quality/quantity ng products served para umayon lang.
(Wala pa ang mga emergencies, hospitalization, education costs, at marami pang commodities…)
When basic survival becomes a luxury, urgent and concrete accountability is needed.
Kaninong accountability? Nasa wrong planning & implementation ba ng government? O dahil nasa sistema na ang pangungurakot, at hindi pagtigil ng mga tiwaling opisyal.
Hindi ito ang Pilipinong nakilala sa mundo.
Hindi ito deserved ng bawat Pinoy.
Nakakahiya man pero hindi ko tuloy maiwasang maikumpara sa ibang bansa — habang ako ngayo’y nasa Malaysia. Ang baba ng presyo ng fuel, toll fee, pagkain. Ang bilis ng internet, maayos ang transportation, ang mga tourists bultuhang dumadagsa at nagtitiwala.
Hindi ko maiwaglit sa isipan na mas tiyak magagaling talaga ang Pilipino kumpara sa ibang nationalities. In fact, sa kakatapos lang na awarding ng ACES Awards, na nag-uwi ng Triple Award ang POWER 4 ALL, at maraming mga bansa pa ang humanga sa tulad nating Pinoy! Oo, tayo ang hakot award sa buong Asia noong dalawang gabing iyon. Pero tayo din ang nangunguna sa pagbasak — Top 1 sa inflation rate sa buong Asya.

UPDATE SA ₱19,965 MERALCO BILL KO! ⚡😤
kahit ₱10,330 lang ang actual electricity consumption ko? Well, here’s what happened. And I hope this serves as awareness sa ibang consumers.
Apparently, yung ₱9,634.91 na “OTHER CHARGES” ay BILL DEPOSIT na sinisingil ulit ni Meralco.
Last May 2026, Meralco automatically credited ₱4,593.50 sa bill namin because of our good payment history. HINDI KO HININGI ANG REFUND NA YUN.
Then October came, biglang halos ₱10K ang additional deposit dahil allegedly LATE DAW AKO MAGBAYAD.
So I investigated.
According to Meralco, late raw ang March, July, August, and September payments ko.
BUT I KEPT MY RECEIPTS! 🧾
✅ March – Paid March 19, due March 21
✅ July – Paid July 18, due July 22
✅ August – Paid August 17, due August 19
✅ September – Paid September 16, due September 23
ALL payments were successfully processed by PSBank BEFORE their due dates!
When I showed Meralco my bank receipts, their representative suggested na baka dahil sa BANK POSTING DELAYS.
So here’s my question: Kung nagbayad ako before the due date through a bank payment channel (na accredited naman din nila kaya nga we can pay bill using our bank app, bakit ako mako-consider na late dahil sa processing or posting delay na wala na sa control ko? Trabaho ko magbayad on time which reflects in my actual payment receipts
I understand na may regulations regarding bill deposits. But shouldn’t consumers be entitled to a proper explanation and verification before being required to pay nearly DOUBLE their normal bill?
HINDI PO ITO TUNGKOL SA PAG-IWAS SA RESPONSIBILIDAD NA MAGBAYAD.
In fact, I already paid my regular October electricity charges BEFORE the due date, and Meralco confirmed that my payment was posted.
Ang kino-contest ko ay yung additional ₱9,634.91 na deposit.
I filed a formal complaint with Meralco, submitted my bank receipts and billing statements, and requested a proper investigation. I have also sought Energy Regulatory Commission intervention.
As of now, UNDER INVESTIGATION pa ang complaint ko. Wala pang final decision kung ika-cancel nila ang deposit.
I’m sharing this because I want other consumers to know: HUWAG BASTA BAYAD NANG BAYAD KAPAG MAY CHARGES NA HINDI MALINAW.
Check your bill. Keep your receipts. Compare your transaction date versus posting date. Ask for a detailed explanation. And if something doesn’t add up, exercise your right to question and dispute it.
Hindi porke nasa bill, bawal nang kuwestiyunin.
We work hard for our money. We deserve accurate billing, transparency, and fair treatment.
I’ll update everyone once Meralco responds to the formal investigation.
