Kaming middle class ang bagong mahirap.

The Middle Class: The New Poor

“The middle class carried what the very rich did not pay, because they had no choice.”

That line stopped me.
Because this is not just about money.

It sounds like the tired voice of people quietly fighting every single day.

Especially if you belong to the middle class.
You don’t earn enough to qualify for aid.
But you don’t earn enough to escape obligations either.

You’re the one working.
You’re the one being deducted.
You’re the one always adjusting.

No wonder many feel they’re stuck in the middle of everything.

When there’s an added fee, they’re affected.
When prices rise, they’re affected.
When taxes are collected, they often feel they’re the first to be hit.

And that’s where the perception begins—
that they’re always the ones carrying the weight of the system.

But the bigger issue isn’t about who to blame.
The real question is: Are the rules being applied fairly to everyone—whether you earn little or a lot?

Because when people feel the burden isn’t shared equally, trust in the system weakens.
