I checked what would have happened if you invested ₱10,000 in each of the current Top 10 PSE companies by market capitalization, then held the shares from July 29, 2016 to July 30, 2026.
After 10 years...
➡ ICT grew from ₱10,000 to ₱153,125.
➡ BDO, BPI, and MER also ended higher.
➡ SM, SMPH, AC, MBT, TEL, and GLO were still below their July 2016 prices.
Your total ₱100,000 would have grown to around ₱232,066.
Okay sana.
Kaso ₱153,125 doon came from ICT alone. 😆
Without ICT, the ₱90,000 invested in the other nine stocks would be worth around ₱78,941.
Parang group project lang.
May isang bumuhat, may tatlong may ambag…
Tapos yung iba, moral support. 😂
Sinadya kong hindi isama ang dividends because we’re looking at one specific belief...

Dividends are important and can improve your total return or offset some price losses.
Pero price movement lang muna ang hinihimay natin dito. 😉
Ten years later, 6 of the 10 stocks were still below their starting prices.
So if you have a stock that has been red for years, hindi sapat na tingnan lang kung gaano mo na siya katagal hawak.
Always go back to your “why.”
Bakit mo siya piniling bilhin?
Okay pa ba ang business at earnings?
May reason pa bang maniwala sa future growth?

Don’t sell just because may loss.
But don’t hold just because matagal na rin.
Hold habang valid pa ang reason mo.
