Make them earn it.

Mr. Jayson

Magandang tanong ’yan—at marami talagang car buyers ang nakaka-experience niyan.

Una, walang masama sa pagiging cash buyer. In fact, kung may pambili ka ng cash, that’s a position of strength.

Pero Jayson, here’s my advice:

Huwag kang makipag-away sa agent. Makipag-negotiate ka.

Sabihin mo upfront:

“Cash buyer ako. Ready akong mag-reserve at magbayad, provided we agree on the final all-in price.”

That’s a very different conversation from:

“Cash ako, magkano pinakamura?”

The first one tells the dealer: I’m serious and I’m ready to transact.

The second one tells them: I’m here to squeeze you.

And remember, don’t negotiate based on the monthly payment.

Negotiate the total out-the-door price.

Ask for a written quotation that clearly shows:

* Vehicle price
* Discounts
* Registration
* Insurance
* Dealer fees
* Accessories
* Any mandatory charges
* Final cash price

Then compare that number with other dealerships.

And here’s another important piece of Tito Panda advice:

Don’t fall in love with one showroom.

If one dealer tells you:

“Sir, wala kaming unit.”

Okay.

Thank you very much.

Call another dealer.

Call another branch.

Ask for their stock.

Ask for their best cash offer.

***Because the moment they realize you’re ready to buy today, you become a valuable customer.

Now, if an agent tells you:

“Sir, cash kasi, wala kaming unit.”

Don’t get angry.

Just smile and say:

“No problem. Let me know when you have one. Meanwhile, I’ll check another dealer.”

Then walk.

Because your money doesn’t belong to that showroom.

Your money belongs to you.

And one more thing, Jayson.

Don’t automatically assume that cash is always financially superior to financing. If a legitimate financing promotion gives you a substantially better total transaction price, sometimes the numbers can surprise you.

Wag ka mag Ask:

“Cash or financing—which is better?”

Ask:

“Which option gives me the lowest total cost of ownership?”

That’s the question a smart buyer asks.

🐼 Panda Says:

Don’t be intimidated dahil you’re a cash buyer.

You don’t need to fight the dealership.

You don’t need to threaten the agent.

You simply need to understand how the dealership makes money, know exactly what you’re willing to pay, and be willing to walk away.

Because the strongest position in a car negotiation isn’t being the loudest guy in the showroom.

It’s being the guy who is perfectly comfortable saying, “Okay, I’ll buy somewhere else.”

And remember, Jayson…

The car is theirs.

But the money is yours.

So make them earn it. 🐼
