Q - Tito, may alam po ba kayong effective method of eating to prevent/minimize blood sugar spikes?
A - Well, siempre may kani-kanyang metabolism ang bawat tao, at kanya-kanyang health situation, but here is what proves ---at least in some people's cases--- to work well:
SEQUENCE IN EATING:
1. A GLASS OR HALF-GLASS OF WATER MUNA, before the meal.
2. AFTER 5-MINUTES, PROTEIN: GREEK/UNSWEETENED YOGURT, and/or 3 pcs KASUY or equivalent before every meal;
3. After 5 minutes: FIBER. Veggies/plant foods.
4. After 5 minutes, PROTEIN: meats. Mga 3 bite sizes muna, wala pang ng carbs (rice, bread, etc.) agad.
5. After 5 minutes, CARBS (konti lang) combined with kaulam protein.
6. No or very little or very low-sugar/sugar-free "dessert". Best kung low-sugar fruit na lang.
BASTA FRUITS/CARBS LAST.
7. WALK for 15 minutes right after meal (kahit paikut-ikot lang sa table).
