ZERO bill

While still in the ICU here in the province, our internist advised us to transfer Will's Dad to the Philippine Heart Center to have an angiogram and angioplasty, given his recent heart attack.

He said that it might cost 1M, but Philhealth will cover half of it.

We asked if we could contact PHC first for more info, but the hospital wasn't helpful.

Good thing we decided not to bring him there at first. I thoroughly researched once my FIL got discharged from the hospital.

I prayed for wisdom from the Holy Spirit. To lead me to the right info and people...

...and He did!

I put my social media manager research skills to good use 💻

God led me to a medical assistance group that allowed me to discover details about having an angiogram and angioplasty in PHC.

He also led me to a Cardiologist in PHC, with whom I could personally talk over the phone.

No secretary whatsoever, which was rare!

What was great about him was that he explained how Philhealth can cover all the bills up to 520k. Na puwedeng ipasok lahat sa benefit para if ever, onti nalang idadagdag namin.

Siya pa ang nag-asikaso para ma-admit na siya for the procedure. Pinasok niya kami sa semi-private para tipid talaga sa costs.

PHC is top-notch compared to the hospital we were initially in the province.

They called us to prepare for the pre-admission. The nurses & staff were all nice, the facilities were high quality, and you'd mistake their hospital food for hotel food.

The day of his angiogram came. We were anxious.

I was praying that the stents wouldn't cost more than the Philhealth coverage.

Our cardiologist took longer to come out than usual. When he did, my heart sank.

He said that angioplasty wouldn't be enough anymore. My FIL already needed a bypass surgery, which will really cost almost 1M this time.

Although Philhealth will cover most of it, we still need to shell out 200k.

I thought, "𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥, 𝘴𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘬𝘶𝘬𝘶𝘩𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢?"

We still have credit card debt from his initial hospitalization, I don't have clients starting April, and costs have been rising because of the war.

Plus, we were worried that we might need to shell out upon his discharge in PHC.

That night, for some reason, this song kept repeating in my head:

🎶 𝗛𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻❜𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹. 𝗛𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻❜𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹. 🎶

I researched on YouTube. The title came up: CHRIST IS MY FIRM FOUNDATION.

When I played it, I immediately sobbed at the first 4 verses of the lyrics:

𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥
𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯

𝘏𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵

𝘐'𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘰𝘴

'𝘊𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘐'𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴

𝘏𝘦'𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯
𝘚𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘏𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘸?

I fell asleep in peace.

The next day, I queued in the Billing section, still nervous.

I got the paper. ZERO BILL.

Hallelujah JESUS!!! 🙌

I was reminded of 3 things from this experience:

1️⃣ Wag "oo" ng "oo" sa doctor sa hospital without prior research. Turns out there are doctors who jack-up their PF and the cost of the stents sa angioplasty para mas kumita. Kaya pala yung unang doc namin sa province, nag-quote ng 1M.

2️⃣ Know your benefits with Philhealth and have a trusted doctor willing to explain them to you. You'd be surprised at what they are willing to cover.

3️⃣ CHRIST IS YOUR FIRM FOUNDATION. HE WILL NEVER FAIL YOU.

Maraming requirements para pumasa si Papa Wilson sa Philhealth for bypass surgery, and we still need to come up with the 200k.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗛𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 💜

Thank you so much to our family on both sides who have yet again offered to help us without asking 🙏

Lalapit din ako sa mga LGUs for this to be successful, starting here in our province.

According to PHC, out na si DSWD and PCSO.

If anyone has leads for direct medical cash assistance and not guarantee letters, please let us know.

If you have any questions about how we processed things and the number of our Cardiologist, send me a PM. I'm willing to guide you. Kindly be patient lang if I don't answer immediately 😊

In this crisis, CHRIST IS our:

✝ Helper
✝ Provider
✝ Deliverer
✝ Comforter

And most of all, our Prince of Peace 😌
