I was struck by Ian Veneracion’s humility when he shared a lesson he learned from Daniel Padilla, “You never talk bad about the person you loved. Never, ever. Kahit binabato ka na ng buong mundo…”

What a rare kind of wisdom in a time when bitterness often finds its way to captions and posts.

Because love, when it is true, does not turn into poison even after it ends. 

His words remind us, the measure of maturity is not how loudly you defend yourself,

but how gently you protect the dignity of someone who once held your heart.

To speak ill may feel like release, but to guard their name is to honor the love that was once yours.

And perhaps that is the greatest lesson we can pass on, that true love leaves no bitterness, only gratitude, because even if they are no longer by your side, they were once God’s gift to your story.
