I tried to look back at my own experience and dare share the lessons learned to the graduates to make it personal.
I beg your indulgence, here are some:
Distinguished guests, teachers, proud parents, and most especially, the graduating class, Good morning!
Doing what is right is rarely easy, but it is always worth it.
Ang madalas kong biro, bakit ang hirap gumawa ng tama pag nasa gobyerno ka?

Let truth be your anchor!
Courage is a decision you make every day.
Do not wait for the perfect moment to be brave—because public service demands it!
The world you are entering does not need perfection; it needs people willing to make courageous choices, however small, every single day. Bravery is not the absence of fear iit is standing firm in your values despite fear.

Service matters more than status.
Hindi ako nahihiyang sabihin na nagsimula ako sa lowest position, isang auditing aide nung 1984.
But whether isang Auditing Aide or USG, iisa lang ang misyon, to be a better public/ international servant.
Graduates, whatever profession you choose—whether you become engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs, nurses, or artists—remember that success is not measured by your title, but by the integrity of your actions and the impact you make on others.
Mula sa madulaing lugar ng Tayabas,habang namamaybay ng mga pilapil o dili naman kaya’y nakikipaghabulan sa bakuran ng paaralang, walang matunog na pangalan hanggang sa moderno at magulong syudad ng New York, iisa ang aking pinanghawakan: yung hardwork, pagmamahal sa trabaho at matibay na pananampalataya!
Kailangan mahal mo yung work mo para hindi ka mapagod! Kailangan matibay ang pananampalataya kasi maraming hamon sa loob ng gobyerno 😀
kung kaya nga po kaya kong sabihin:
Where you start does not determine how far you can go—your commitment does.
Your diploma today is not the end goal; it is the key that opens the door to possibilities. Walk through that door with dedication and passion.
Wag makalimot lumingon sa pinanggalingan pero wag din nating kalimutan: Sino ba ang tunay nating pinaglilingkuran ! (who we are serving)
Every act of honesty protects someone. Every act of courage uplifts a community. Every act of integrity strengthens our nation. As you chase your dreams, remember the bigger picture—the people who will benefit from your goodness, your skills, and your courage. Hindi lang ang iyong pamilya, ang komunidad, ang simbahan, ang paaralan!
Graduates, today you carry not only your own dreams, but the hopes of your families, your school, and your country. May you live a life your younger self would be proud of. May you choose truth over convenience, service over status, and courage over fear.
And when the world challenges you,as it surely will, iniba ko rito yung ending…
