Pasma

 Lamig -  Hangin - Pasma

What is Lamig/Hangin? Pasma?

There is no english or medical term called "Lamig or Pasma", the closest interpretation is "heat and cold energy imbalance".

Proper knowledge and application of the principles of balancing heat and cold energy helps in curing the symptoms. Pasma is very Filipino Folk Medicine, whereas Lamig or cold wind, we learned from the Chinese/Oriental Medicine, they are usually synonymous and go hand in hand.

Some of the symptoms of pasma and lamig are severe recurrent migraine, sweaty palms, numbness and pains, hand tremors, body pains, back pains, and stomach pains, and sometimes unexplained feeling of illness.

To give you an analogy it is something you do not do to a glass from freezer is to put hot water of course it will break due to reaction to extreme temperatures, our body is like that also it could experience a state of shock with immediate exposure to two extreme temperatures.

Home Remedies

Alternative treatments or home remedies are important in managing the pain of tender points.

1. Therapeutic massage can manipulate the muscles and soft tissues of the body to help ease pain, muscle tension, spasms, and stress.

2. Twice daily moist heat applications are also helpful in easing the deep muscle pain and stiffness. To benefit from moist heat, you can use a moist heating pad that you can warm in a microwave, or take a warm shower. You can also relax in a Jacuzzi. Sosyal! 🙂

3. It's extremely important to manage your schedule and to control your level of stress. Be sure to block time each day to rest and relax. Avoid making too many commitments that can increase stress and fatigue. In addition, you can do relaxation exercises such as guided imagery, deep-breathing exercises, or the relaxation response to manage how you respond to stress.

4. Staying on a regular bedtime routine is also important. Doing so allows your body to rest and repair itself.

Pag hindi po makuha sa mga home remedies na pinayo ko bisitahin niyo po ako sa aking clinic for proper evaluation and treatments. Thank you.
